Okay, I've come up with a solution to our bizarre, "I have two books / I have none" problem.

To everyone who has one book: send it as soon as you can. If you can read it and annotate in a day, do it, but if it's a little longer then just stop, skip to the end and give whatever impression you have of it. You can try to skim through to the end without notating, but the point is you must send.

To everyone who has no books: Sit tight, they're coming. :D

To everyone who has two books: Okay, here's what we'll do. If you have two books and haven't read either, note that in the cover and send ASAP to whoever's next on your list. I mean it; don't even try to read it unless you have the time or you're certain it will only take one day. If, God forbid, you have three books now, send two ahead to the next person.

To those who receive two books: Read one as fast as you can and send it along.

I think that should work out. If there's a flaw in my plan, please go ahead and point it out, if you will.

ALSO: I've found that it is cheapest to send all parcels of books via first class. Things arrive in 5 days or so, and it cost me $3 to send two books. So long as the package weighs less than a pound, which it should since these are paperbacks, do that and it'll expedite that part of the process. It's also less expensive than media mail; one book to bribitribbit via Media Mail was $6. And, use a bubble-wrap envelope if you can; we can reuse those, and they're like fifty cents to buy.

I'm going to say we should aim for Monday being our ship-by date. All in favor?

I know it's not the safest thing, but I've been wrapping my books in paper grocery bags because it costs no money at all.

Can't wait for more books! Now that it's summer I've been reading all my books in a day and sending them along within a week. I know that when school starts it's going to take me much longer.

Well, if you get those bubble-wrap lined envelopes for the books, just reuse those since that's also cheap and easy. It also is nice because we can pass on those envelopes as well. :D
